Punk Rock Boots

 You'll have to forgive me these were from a cell phone or old samsung digital back WHEN I BEGAN. I fell in love with punk rock boots even though I couldn't afford a pair of my own, yes I was that broke and in college, about to graduate into the great recession. I fixed up friends', coworkers', strangers' boots as I would meet them in my wanderings in PDX. I often traded for art, a ticket to a show, or for a meal as they were too poor to tip me properly and mostly worked in service jobs. I did it for the boots. I wanted to keep the boots alive. I did it in the back of goth clubs and industrial nights.  When I finished college and my health began to crumble for the first of many times, I began to learn to cobble, it paid better than social work and I could hit stuff and swear. This was the humble beginning. I wanted to buy a pair of my own one day. I needed to learn how to fix them up, because I knew mine would likely be second hand. We'll get there....but never forget your roots.
